Maple and Granola Baked Pears
- 4 tbsps unsalted butter
- 4 California Bartlett pears, halved and cored
- 2 tbsps fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups granola (granola containing dried cranberries and almonds is recommended)
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- whipped cream (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Butter a 9"x13" glass baking dish with 1 tablespoon butter. Add the pear halves, rounded side down. Drizzle the pears with lemon juice and fill with granola; set aside. In a small saucepan (or microwave oven), heat the maple syrup and the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter. Spoon the mixture evenly over the prepared pears.
Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes, or until pears are tender, basting several times with the pan juices. Serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
