Tawny Maple Cheesecake Recipe
A cheese cake recipe celebrating the great taste of maple syrup. Adding Pennsylvania maple syrup to your cake recipes is the best way to put a sweet spin on baking. Recipe Ingredients
- ¾ cup Pennsylvania Maple Syrup
- 1 ¼ Cups fine graham cracker crumbs
- 5 tbsp. sugar
- 5 tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
- ¼ cup heavy maple cream
- 1 ½ pounds cream cheese, at room temperature
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 ½ cups sour cream, at room temperature
- 1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract
Combine the cracker crumbs and 1 tbsp. of the sugar in a mixing bow. With the soft butter. Rub together thoroughly, then press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Freeze. Preheat The oven to 350* F. In a medium-size saucepan, bring the maple syrup to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 3 minutes, remove from the heat, and stir in the cold cream. Scrape into the bowl and refrigerate. Using heavy-duty electric mixer, cream the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add remaining 4 tbsp. sugar and beat briefly, then add the eggs, one at a time. When the maple syrup is no longer warm to the touch, gradually beat it in also, followed by the sour cream and vanilla. Scrape into the chilled pan and bake, then chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
